The room at Hostal Casa De Las Americas was awesome! It had a balcony where you could enjoy your morning coffee and a cool tile floor that kept the room nice and refreshing. The air conditioning was a blessing in the Cartagena heat!
I personally found the tile/marble floor a bit slippery, but that's just me.

the owners of this hotel, Hostal Casa De Las Americas, were incredibly kind and helpful, always available to answer my questions and provide recommendations for the city. the room was basic but comfortable, with everything you need including AC. I particularly enjoyed the little fruit plate they served for breakfast - a nice touch. Cons: Was all great! 👍.

I had a 24-hour front desk at my disposal, so I could bother someone anytime I wanted. The free WiFi throughout the property was great, I could stay connected and ignore people in peace.
Just what I needed.

We stayed in a lovely hostel in a charming neighborhood with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. the location was ideal as it was just a short walk away from all the top tourist spots. the building itself had a historic feel, being an old colonial house. the room was cozy and comfortable, with great air conditioning and fans to beat the heat. Plus, the staff was friendly and provided useful information about the city.
The room lacked natural light, which made it a bit dark during the day.

I recently stayed at a lovely family-run hostel in an ideal location. The owners truly care about their guests and go above and beyond to provide excellent service. Despite the language barrier, we always understood each other. The cleanliness of the hostel was outstanding, with daily room and bathroom cleaning, as well as fresh bedding. The quiet street location allowed for peaceful nights, yet still within walking distance of both the Old Town and Getsemani. The owner, David, also served as a licensed tour guide and provided invaluable information and recommendations.
100% Recommend this hotel.

The staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful, so friendly and helpful. They made me feel right at home and were always ready to assist with any questions or concerns. The location of the hotel was also perfect, just a short walk from the main attractions and bustling areas of the city. I loved being able to easily explore the city and then retreat to the tranquility of the hotel. Another great advantage was the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms, they were spotless and well-maintained.
That there was no hot water in the shower. It wasn't a big deal for me, but I can understand that it might be important for some people.

We had a wonderful time staying at Casa De Las Americas. The hosts treated us like family, helped us with all our questions, and even organized a tour for us. The free delicious breakfast was a great start to our day. The location of the hostel is perfect, near good and affordable restaurants and just a short walk to the city center. We were sad to leave and would definitely book again for our next stay. Muchas gracias!
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

Owners kind and helpful. Very safe. 5 min walk to plaza, food, pharmacy. Constant rain but not owner's fault. Breakfast included in room rate. Will stay again.

This hotel was totally worth the money! The room was clean, comfy, and had a nice touch of character with the Cartagena photos. I couldn't ask for a better location, close to all the action but on a quiet street. And the staff, David and Maty, were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home.
The breakfast could have been better if there were more options.

I had a cozy and comfortable stay at a wonderful hostel in Cartagena. The family who runs the place was incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. They even shared their birthday cake with me! The room was impeccably clean and had all the necessary amenities, including a fan and A/C to combat the heat. The central location in Getsemani was perfect, just a short walk from the Old Town and surrounded by great restaurants and cafes. The WiFi worked perfectly in the room, which was a big plus for me. I had a great experience and would highly recommend this hostel to others.
One drawback was that there was no hot water in the shower, although it didn't bother me much. Additionally, I couldn't have guests in my room, which made it slightly uncomfortable.
